When can I publish my new audio tour? Do I have to wait until the existing tour has finished?

If you are re-using the IDentifiers from your existing tour for your new tour, you can publish the content of your new tour without connecting the object and Start IDentifiers.

As soon as the existing tour has finished you can disconnect the IDentifiers from the old tour and connect them to the new tour and publish again. After that you can archive the old tour. As the content of the new tour is already published and synchronized the synchronization of these added IDentifiers will not take long.

Please pay attention: if your audio has a lot of content of multiple languages we advise to upload, publish and sync one language at a time!

How do I archive a tour?

Click the square in front of the tour you want to archive > click actions > remove > archive.

All analytics of the tour will be still available, and you can always place the tour back in your active tour list.

When and why should I use tags?

With ‘tags’ it is easier to define your stops and filter your stops in a tour, for example all stops of a temporary exhibition will be shown together by using the selection “filter by tags” on the top and right side of the page.

You can find more information about tags on this page

How do I copy a stop from another tour?

When you want to copy a stop from a tour to another tour, you must go to the tour where you would like to add the new stop > click add stop > select existing. At the top at the right side you can chose all tours and select the tour and stop which you want to copy.

How do I make a new tour with new and existing stops combined?

Go to the Toureditor > click add tour, fill in the name of your new tour and choose the language(s) >
Open your new tour > click add stop > choose select existing and make your choice. (You can add more than one stop by clicking the square in front of the stops).

When you have selected all the stops you want to keep in your new tour, you can start adding the new stops. When you are finished disconnect the start Identifiers from the old tour and add them to your new tour. Do not forget to publish and synchronize. Then move your old tour to Archive by clicking the square in front of the old tour > actions > remove > archive. (This way all the analytics of the old tour will be saved and the old tour is still visible in MapMyVisit).

When do I make a new audio tour?

  1. If your temporary collection changes and the new tour will be completely different. The new audio tour will then replace the old one (which will be archived).
  2. If you have a tour with permanent stops and temporary stops, and the temporary stops end.
  3. If you make a separate tour with a separate start identifier, for example a children’s tour or a temporary tour with its own start identifiers.
